Sauti Mtaani is a grassroots initiative dedicated to promoting social accountability and citizen participation in Nairobi County, specifically targeting the Mukuru Kwa Reuben and Kwa Njenga wards. Through community forums, artistic expression, and digital outreach, the project empowers residents to understand their role in holding elected leaders accountable. By increasing awareness of elected leaders’ responsibilities, fostering artistic activism, and enhancing accountability mechanisms, Sauti Mtaani aims to cultivate a transparent and responsive governance system.

Vision: Our vision is a community free from social injustices, with youth actively contributing to its social and economic development.

Mission: To cultivate knowledge, creativity, and innovation among youth, fostering a united and prosperous community through education and advocacy.

Objectives:

1. Increase awareness among community members about the roles of elected leaders (Members of Parliament and Members of County Assembly).
2. Build the capacity of artists to interpret community issues and create socially impactful music.
3. Enhance accountability among duty bearers.
4. Facilitate community participation in County Public Participation forums.
5. Improve access to essential planning and budget documents, ensuring accessibility for persons with disabilities.
6. Facilitate dialogue between residents and duty bearers through lobbying sessions.

Target Area: The project will operate in Nairobi County, focusing on the Embakasi South Constituency, specifically the Mukuru Kwa Reuben and Kwa Njenga wards.
